Starscape Vineyard is primed for superstardom, just like the Ritchie Vineyard in the 90s and 2000s. Set in the immaculate “Middle Reach” of the Russian River Valley – tucked between the iconic Westside and Eastside Roads – this vineyard used to be one of just four estate vineyards in the ICONIC Goldeneye winery portfolio when it was known as Floodgate. Well...DAMNED is this beauty doesn’t have me gushing with praise! (Meh…not my best work, I know.) Ok, back at it. Farmed since 2012 by Chris Walden, the vineyard is known for producing classically-styled Russian River Pinot Noirs, just…like…THIS! Black cherries, cherry cola, Christmas spices galore (like cranberries, mulled with cinnamon and clove, and a zesty slice of orange peel), plus some rooty herbs – is that sassafras I detect? Maybe? ANYWHO…this is a big, warm hug of a Pinot Noir – juicy, round, long, and yes…POWERFUL! Embrace your inner Tasmanian Devil – and take a dance with this EPIC Pinot!
