OUTRAGEOUSLY delicious, lush, hedonistic Cabernet at a price that just doesn’t come around too often these days for high-end Napa Cab like this. CRAZY seductive aromatics – violets, lilacs, and heady whiffs of creme de cassis, with more classic Cabernet markers like blackberries, black cherries, and wisps of cedar. There’s this wild, coastal forest scent to it as well – as fresh as a brisk morning walk along the coast in the fog! Massive, and yet intricately layered and complex too…just an enigma of a wine that will keep you enthralled for years to come!
Normally $150 at the winery, we played this like Bordeaux futures, and gobbled up every…last…bottle on release of this first vintage blend of Benoit’s BEST barrels, carefully selected to make the newest STAR in the Teeter-Totter portfolio. If you got to taste a couple bottles from our previous little IYKYK release a few months back – you’re already hip to what I’m slinging – there simply aren’t ANY FLAGSHIP Napa Cabs that compete with the sort of value for quality metrics we’re dealing with here! UNDER $60?! Panache is all about flair, and charisma, and in-your-face elegance – and this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wears it like a mink coat with diamond-studded spectacles. I’m getting serious PRIME Elton John vibes from this baby – outwardly flashy at first, but with incredible depth and complexity that somehow transcends the genre, and re-defines possibilities in that sort of instant-classic, Tiny Dancer sort of way. Hold me closer, indeed!!!
