Spring Mountain Vineyard Red Blend Elivette Spring Mountain District Napa Valley 2016

Spring Mountain Vineyard Red Blend Elivette Spring Mountain District Napa Valley 2016

96 POINT Elivette!!! Wait…am I experiencing deja vu? Are you? Who cares…we’ve got the SENSATIONAL 2016 vintage in da HOUSE!!! Over 80% OFF?!

UNREAL. You might think I’d be getting tired of drinking and talking about all this Elivette over the past couple of months – but I assure – it is just…the…opposite!!! Each time a new truck has arrived, with a few different vintages of bottled Spring Mountain District BRILLIANCE…I fall deeper and deeper down the Elivette rabbit hole. And it is just soooooo cool. Each wine, with its different blend make-up, and various block sourcing from the expansive property and all the elevations, and exposures, soil contrasts, and microclimates – not to mention the differences that come with each growing season – well, the possibilities and permutations are utterly ENDLESS!Ā

So – hopefully, you scored a handful of both the 2011 and 2013 bottlings today…but don’t lose that clear-eyed, full-hearts focus just yet! The 2016 is simply stellar – a favorite in a sea of favorites, and for those of you that love CLASSIC Napa Cab – this one is gonna ring the gong…LOUDLY. 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, then 18% Cabernet Franc, followed by 9% Petit Verdot, and equal parts Malbec and Merlot. The long, even growing season lends this all kinds of complexity, with the sort of balance and precision typically reserved for an F-1 racecar. This beauty purrs every bit as loudly, too – with round and creamy notes of black cherries and blackberries, then spiced plum tarts, and soft and sweetly roasted Herbs de Provence, with a very Bordeaux-esque styling of graphite and bay leaf carrying into the lengthy finish.Ā

Wow. Just…wow. I don’t know if I could pick a favorite for the day…probably whichever one sits in my glass currently. Luckily, at our CRAY-CRAY price $35…we don’t have to choose, do we?!

Grab a lot. While we’ve got ā€˜em!Ā
