Oh, baby…what FUN!!! I was chained to my desk and forced to drink each and every bottle we are offering today (tough job, but someone’s gotta do it), and this beauty was flat-out stunning. Not that everything else on the docket today isn’t a full-blown SUPERSTAR – but 21-year-old half bottles – especially from a warm, short, and low-yielding vintage like 2004…simply SHOULD NOT taste this powerfully alive, and fresh, and downright EXPLOSIVE! And all for $22?!

STOP it. You know the old adage of big things coming in small packages…welp, here…you…GO!!! This little baddie is ROCKING – inky black, stunningly concentrated – and just loaded with plums, and cedar, and this umami-rich mushroom soy character, gorgeously uplifted by lilacs and candied violets. The flavors are impenetrably dark and oozing with kirsch, and crushed blackberries, iron ore, and even a hint of roasted fennel. There’s a bright and hyper-fresh note of spearmint and nicely vibrant acidity, but the overall effect is this is brooding, powerful, and certainly NOT FOR THE SHY! If you love Napa Cabs…I mean, truly, madly, deeply LOVE Napa Cabs – this is a straight no-brainer.
