PIANCORNELLO, the producer of Podere Del Visciolo, is a feather in our caps, for sure. We discovered their sensationally delicious Brunello wines 3 years ago and have bought every single bottle they would give us ever since (and sold out in record time, FYI). This is their Rosso, basically, and it is such a massive over-deliverer of Tuscan ambrosia that we can scarcely grok it. This is a MUST for summer and all-the-time, happy-making drinking!!  

Fourteen bucks -- in American dollars! Boom! 80% Sangiovese, 10% Syrah and 10% Colorino --- but all sunshine and love, at least to your humble scribe. HOW, how do they do it --- it’s rich and dark and utterly POPPING with cherry fruit. We’re talking maraschino cherries, cherry juice, dried cherries, cherry pie!! Wow! A hint of sweet mint and sweet tobacco, too, but just exuberantly flowing with ripe, juicy, amazingly tasty fruit! Terrific balance, freshness and length...it just hits all the sweet spots...especially the price tag. Dang!! What else can we say? GET IT while you can!!
