Just next door to Sancerre – on the flinty, crunchy, bleached white soils of ancient seafloor that is the Loire Valley – bienvenue a Menetou-Salon! (Say it in your best Frenchie accent.) Just west of Sancerre proper, Sauvignon Blanc reigns as supreme as ever here, and we know a guy that ALWAYS delivers the goods – at HALF the price or less of what most Sancerre folks are charging these days. Nicolas, however, makes Sancerre AND this little, insanely priced gem from Menetou-Salon – Terre Blanche! That means “White Earth”, i.e., the region’s famous chalky limestone...and with those same cooling influences of the Loire River, presto! We basically have Baby Sancerre! But you'd never know it wasn't the real deal from the taste!! This packs all the freshness, the utter verve, the tingly, zippy, tropical magic of a proper Sancerre, made in that rich and full, almost Vacheron-esque single vineyard style. It’s a vibe, to be sure – and I’m groovin’ to that funky beat!

Did you see that PRICE?! It’s astounding, people. Crushed rocks, green apple saltwater taffy, with pomelo, and mandarin orange, and some fresh-squeezed Meyer lemon, rounded out with this struck-flint smokiness, and the soothing green herbal notes of lemon balm and summer savory…wowza! It starts all cool, rocky, and minty, but then warms up, gets a little spicy, and creamy, only to finish with this onrushing wave of tart and fresh citrus notes and a bit of that salty ocean breeze on the finish.
