Single vineyard, cool Victoria climate, monumental producer, 100% SHIRAZ, people! This Heathcote bottling is just for us…you can’t find this ANYWHERE else!
In the land of Heathcote, one of Australia’s cool climate spots in Victoria, this is a vineyard called Timmering – propagated with a rare clone of shiraz/syrah brought over from the Rhone Valley in the 1800s. Mount Langi is a longstanding, fully revered Aussie producer (that we’ve been slinging for years), started by an Italian immigrant family (just like a lot of family estates in Italy, they do vines, nut trees, olives, fruit, meat as well), and these wines have been getting much love for many decades – from us, from critics, from you lovely wine savvy humans...just everyone. What’s not to love?!?! THAT PRICE!!!
This is raring-to-go, drink-with-abandon type juice – well, heck, here’s a few of those 94 point words from UK-born, Aussie-based, Master of Wine Andrew Caillard: “Fresh...Generous and supple...textured with inky blackberry, black cherry, blackcurrant flavors, plentiful fine lacy textures, underlying savory/ roasted almond notes...A classic Central Victorian shiraz with lovely ripe fruit definition, richness of flavor, and torque...” Check out the full review below, but for real, at UNDER $15 with 94 points...isn’t that enough?!?!
