Look, Iāve never claimed to be a geniusā¦but when youāre talking about 140-year-old VINE Zinfandel, with a fresh off the presses 94 POINT score, and tell me I can buy it at the simply mind-melting price of just SIXTEEN DOLLARSā¦welp, I can figure THAT equation in my sleep.
The answer? Isnāt it obvious? Buy EVERYTHING you can, as fast as you can, ācause this just became my new fall go-to bottle and itās sure to become yours, too. Spicy, heady, bright, and lusciously smooth ā with the complexity of an Organic Chemistry textbook ā itās just everything I want to drink as the leaves turn and the weather chills the bones.
And with my all-time favorite, food-focused holiday coming up?! YES!!! Obviously, the tart red fruit notes of pomegranates and cranberries, plus red cherries and raspberries, are gonna absolutely CRUSH with my turkey. But the SIDES? Sweet potatoes, and green bean casserole, and glazed carrots, and my special roasted bone-marrow stuffing? With these sexy, pulsating Zinfandel notes of cedar and sage, rosemary and fennel, and this perfectly supple green cardamom and cinnamon finish?! Ahhhh! One hundred and forty-year-old vines. The Guadagni family has been farming grapes in Dry Creek for as long as these ancient vines have been in the ground, and now, with the 4th generationā¦theyāre making some pretty spectacular wines in their own right. Their grapes have been used for vineyard designate bottlings from RIDGE for years, and at the end of the day ā thatās about all I need to say to prove the pedigree of this historic site. Toss in the utterly heart-racing savings of OVER 73% OFF, and this just became the easiest decision youāll have to make all Monday long.
