Edge Hill Red Blend Abel 1833 Mount Veeder Napa Valley 2014 (Etched Magnum 1.5L)
Ok, did I save the best for last? Maybe. I mean, the white was the true revelation for me today, and thatās LONG gone, but the 2014 Abel 1833 Red really captured my heart. (Pro tip: if I ever compare a wine to Audrey Hepburnā¦Iām in love.) But ETCHED MAGNUMS?! Be still, my heart!!!Ā
Nineteen. That is exactly how many we have. (Yes, we started with 20, but I begged and pleaded to be able to buy one for my collectionā¦sorry, not sorry.) So of the few that are leftā¦are you fast enough to grab one? At an unfathomable $380 LESS than winery retail? And we didnāt even really factor the whole āETCHEDā part into that equation, so likely even greater savings? I meanā¦who could resist? Clearly not me.Ā
Soft, seductive, and chocolate-y, with a delicate red fruit note that goes from cherries, to raspberries, to almost tropical sensations of dragonfruit. Itās beautifully balanced with impressive brightness, and a cooling limestone and slate minerality that really extends the finish. Iāll say it againā¦this beauty is understated elegance ā not shy by any means, and with plenty of structure and strength ā just arranged in a regal and stately way. I already invoked the spirit of Audrey Hepburn's Princess Ann of Coravia from Roman Holiday back when we dropped the 750s ā but for the Etched Magnumā¦itās an even better fit!Ā
Get one of these, and start tallying up your Spring Marathon total with childlike glee. And stick a fork in me, ācause Iā¦amā¦DONE!Ā
Last Edge Hill of the dayā¦go, go, gooooooooooo!
All Marathon orders will be combined and shipped from our West Coast warehouse. Please allow up to 6 weeks for us to reach all states. Additional Qs? Check out ourĀ FAQsĀ and this handyĀ Marathon page!
