It couldn’t possibly be a Bastille Day wine sale without the inclusion of one of the biggest, most legendary, historically significant names in the entirety of the French wine world! ROTHSCHILDS are in da HOUSE!
It’s a rare day to have a few cases of a Rothschild family wine to sell, and this is only the THIRD time we’ve ever laid EYES on this rare gem!! At WAY BELOW retail, from a winery dating back to the 17th century! Yes, indeed, we are here and ROCKING one incredible LIMOUX!!! (So fun to say…leeeee-moooooooo!) This is STELLAR, pedigreed, fantastic Bordeaux-styled (Cabernet, Merlot, Franc, etc.), rich, powerful red from the Limoux region of France, about a 4-hour drive from Bordeaux, and don’t forget the amazing quality of the 2018 vintage in this mix as well!! OH, AND let's not forget 94 POINTS! A tremendous overdeliverer, kids, and NOT for the shy. Seven years since harvest has this SINGING – and we’ve lowered the price even further to make it more attractive than ever!
Fun fact: we sold the ‘15 some years ago and it is, to this day, one of our fastest-selling, most-loved wines for hardcore LBers. Don’t skip a second to grab it...might be another 3 years before we get more!
The Rothschilds know their land (they have owned this special property since just 1998), and know their wine and have made huge upgrades in this part of France. Stylistically, the Baron’arques is made the same as Mouton-Rothschild, but you have a gutsier feel here, a more LUSTY hand – yes, gutsy, ripe, wild blackberry, deep, dark plum, crushed flowers and earth for days. A whiff of roasting coffee and a wild, long, spicy finish that lingers for the rest of the day. Warm, inviting and balanced...this is a treat to drink – but at our price, c’mon! Did we mention 94 points? We brought this in direct from the Domaine, and you will NOT see a finer price --- Bordeaux badassness in Southwest France! Very little to go around…while it lasts…!
