Michael Dashe has an impressive resume — stints at Far Niente, and Lafite Rothschild (wow!) — and perhaps most importantly for today’s wine — he was THE MAN directly under Paul Draper at RIDGE in charge of their Zin-heavy Lytton Springs project! So yeah, even if he hadn’t been directly responsible for nearly three decades of KILLER Dashe Zinfandel — his CV checks out like me during the safety lectures at Disneyland. His own project reflects the finesse and power we love about well-made old-vine Zin — especially when you can snag it for just ELEVEN DOLLARS!!Â
Juicy and flinty, with sweetart piquantness, and tons of blackberries, red currants, cherries, strawberries, and red licorice whips, all with this salty, iron-loaded, spicebox note that carries this into a zippy and tingly finish. It overdelivers on basically every conceivable level — making this a HUGE no-brainer of the highest level!! Double 92 POINTS at this sort of price??? Whatcha waiting for…just get it!!
