I mean…how do we do it? Hit after hit, after hit, after hit – we’re like Taylor Swift, and prime Mike Tyson, with shades of Pete Rose for good measure – and these hits are ENDLESS! The Holystone vineyard was bought by the Collins family in 1968, with most of the vine plantings going back to the 1920s, tucked on the northern edge of the Saint Helena AVA, near Turley. The porous sandstone soils stress the vines and drive root growth downward making for excellent concentration in the fruit – and this youthful beast is just PUMPING right now! For 16 years young – you’d never guess it based on that glorious first whiff. A bouquet of dried roses pulls you in, then greets you with a medley of black plums, blackberries, currants, and olives, with this peppery spice, and meaty, savory richness throughout. It’s just wicked fun, and we got the lion’s share of what is left in this world!!! That’s not a lot, sadly – so to the fastest fingers go the spoils on this one!
