Chauveau Les Collines de Lise Premier Pas Pouilly-Fumé 2023
Domaine Chauveau!!! Our favorite Loire Luminary, back with their incredible Pouilly-Fumé!!! 50% OFF and the best price ANYWHERE!!!
Ok, yesterday was the summer solstice, which means more sunshine, longer days, and yes…my absolute favorite – WEEKEND DAY DRINKING!!! It’s an art unto itself – and CRISP, cool, lip-smacking ambrosia from places like Pouilly-Fumé in the Loire Valley just might be the paint that gives this art substance and form. When it just so happens to be a new and prized bottling of delectable Sauvignon Blanc grapes from one of our favorite, pound-for-pound, dollar-for-dollar, go-tos in Domaine Chauveau, well, what more can I say? Summer…is…HERE!
An utterly ROCKING deal of ONLY $20 – and if you leapt out the gate back in February when we first offered it – you KNOW how absolutely stunning this is!!! A new bottling, from a tried-and-true Last Bottler favorite, which translates to “The Hills of Lise”. Lise is Benoit’s daughter and the newest generation to take on winemaking at the Chauveau estate – and this “first pass” through the family’s hillside vineyards is CRAZY bright, electric, and soul-satisfying, thirst-quenching, food-pairing deliciousness in a bottle that I can’t even comprehend putting down.
The fresh-cut grass, and alpine wildflower aspect, that zippy, citrine, and totally vibing freshness of the Sauvignon Blanc, with that smoky flint/crushed oyster shell goodness that could only be the limestone-riddled Loire Valley, all tucked in tight with this bountiful core of barely ripe stone fruits like white nectarines, and those tiny, tart, and juicy little yellow plums barely bigger than a table grape…aaaaahhh!!! There’s that dash of Pouilly-Fumé voluptuousness, but this is gorgeously textured yet never heavy. It glides across the tongue like a soaped-up slip-n-slide, and the wild ride rolls on and on into a spicy, zesty finish that energizes more than a morning plunge into the ice bath. I want this with shrimp tacos so badly it makes my soul hurt – so that’s what I’m making today (with roasted poblano crema, pickled red onions, and charred corn salsa)! Oh baby…I’m already running low on my first case from a few months back…time to RELOAD! At a whopping 50% OFF…you’d be wise to do the same!
While it lasts!
