Petite Boyer in da HOUSE! This long-standing gem of the Côtes de Bordeaux absolutely CRUSHED the trials and tribulations of the 2021 vintage. Decanter summed it up nicely – despite Mother Nature throwing a bevy of torrents at producers – those that pivoted and persevered managed to make something quite exceptional.

Just…like…THIS!!! I’ll tell you true – it’s not often we take a whiff of under $20 Bordeaux and go…"DAMN! This is puuurrrrrty!!!" But that is exactly what happened here. Rose petals and violets – absolutely! But some serious structure and depth too, with notes of graphite, then rich plums and inky creme de cassis, maybe a handful of muddled blackberries, some bright uplifting notes of rosemary and sage, then some dusty sweet cocoa nibs, and this sultry flourish of shaved Burgundy truffles too! I mean, 95 POINTS! This wine is BANGIN’! The deliciousness factor goes to an 11 on the Spinal Tap scale and I’d go so far as to call it “sumptuous”, and simply a MASSIVE crowd-pleaser overall with all of its softness and drink-me-now yum-ness. Amazingly good and drinks like something that costs $65 or more, for sure!! 100% new French oak gives it this stylish, utterly polished demeanor, and that perfectly balanced blend of 60% merlot, with 20% each cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc makes it sing in the most delightful manner!
In a word? Ahhhhh!!!! Oh, BORDEAUX! We never get enough and this checks all the boxes. Go on and treat yourself – we sure are!!! Under $20?!?! 95 POINTS?! Ring in the new year with a guaranteed WINNER landing on your doorstep in early 2025! While it lasts..!
