What about the killer 2018 vintage, pure GRAND CRU finesse, unadulterated power, and the presence of grandmaster consultant Hubert de Boüard (AHEM…Château Angélus, anyone?)…BRAIN MALFUNCTION…reset, reset.
Our man on the ground in Bordeaux hooked this up…and if you got a few years back on initial release – you already know! We couldn’t resist taking on the last of what’s left – even if it is nowhere near enough for our usual offers…but when the vino is this tasty, who cares?!
For those of you new to the chase, here’s what to expect…Hubert de Boüard is perhaps the most divisive vintner in Saint-Émilion for his unapologetic, BOLD, luscious, and incredibly polished style. His newest Cab Franc flagship, Hommage à Elisabeth Bouchet, is a frequent 100 point recipient, crafted very much in the sort of style that makes NAPA CAB lovers weak in the knees – but selling at about $1500 a pop here in the USA. (Ooof!) At our low, low price of just $35 – this is very much in that Hubert de Boüard signature style (but making slightly more than just 5 barrels worth…), and you simply have to taste it to believe it!
The juice is so TEXTURALLY stimulating – it's like the vinous version of ASMR. Rich and supple liquid velvet hits the glass – loaded with black cherry, exotic blackberry compote, and plums, with Asian spices, licorice, and cigar box, and…AND! Goes on and on, and at the end of the day, it is simply terrifyingly easy to sip and stare in wonderment and let it take you down the river of ambrosial lust. That’s it. We barely have enough – so the fastest fingers get the 94 POINT Bordeaux…while it lasts, of course!
