BOOM! Happy Monday indeed, another container from France landed over the weekend! Let’s get after it!! Almost 50% OFF this CLASSIC lip-smacking, tasty Fronsac (just north of Saint-Emilion and Pomerol in Bordeaux)!! These CANNOT come around often enough for us, and we’ve been fully jonesing some bargain Bordeaux lately… 92 pointer to boot!Â
Château du Gazin is situated on the right bank on the edges of both Saint-Emilion and Pomerol and has stood as a Chateau since 1532. The real magic began in the 1930s, and today this little under-the-radar chateau is making amazingly lush, killer wines. Pretty much a savvy insider thing that we can never get enough to send out an email, but for the '18, we pulled ALL the strings there were to pull!
If only we had gotten more of this...alas, while it lasts, let us regale you with its charms as we marinate a steak in our tiny little office fridge that will go so beautifully with it tonight! Yes! CREME DE CASSIS. It’s the blackcurrant liqueur of France that so perfectly describes the spicy, sweet, piquant flavor and aroma so common in wines of this region. A little blackberry, pencil lead and sweet tobacco, roses and cigar box and there you have this fantastic, screamingly well-priced bottle of deliciousness. Pure and structured and focused -- like you, as you drain the contents with friends over food. That’s all we’re going to elaborate --- not enough to go around…!
