Cerro Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2021

Cerro Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2021

Napa Cab lovers! Get ready for glory, get ready for greatness — an ALL-TIME Last Bottle steal on Napa Cab...94 POINTS! A full 75% OFF! And way, WAY under $30!!!

CERRO is back — and this ain’t no zero
more like the HERO, good people! This is small production (just 500 cases) estate-grown (vineyard just east of Atlas Peak), pedigreed-to-perfection (owner/winemaker JDB is the nephew of Caymus’ Chuck Wagner) that checks all the boxes and then some!

J. Derek Beitler is the wizard behind this emerald curtain, and if you don’t know him, I bet you know his family tree – Kurt Beitler, brother: Bohùme wines out in Sonoma, Joey Wagner, cousin: Belle Gloss, BÖEN, et all, and Chuck Wagner, uncle: CAYMUS!!! Some family tree, am I right? Well, J. grew up making the trek down from his home in Oregon every summer to work with Uncle Chuck at Caymus – and that gave him a taste for the biz. Years later, he made the move down here, opening up projects like Bodega Rancho, Carne Humana, and others with his cousin Joe. And finally, he got the chance to go all-in on his own project, JDB Wines, and this Cerro Cabernet Sauvignon.

The completely STELLAR 2021 vintage is stamped all over this bad-boy — where tightly structured fruit, and infinitely layered complexity make for a beautifully age-worthy bottling of Napa Valley Cab decadence! Don’t try and compare this to Caymus (‘cause it is SOOOOO much better), and well, for the kind of cray-cray pricing we have today — it’s WAY cheaper too! Aromas of dark chocolate and cigar smoke, with brandied cherries, and a touch of Mission fig — it’s a brooding beast, no question. But things get crazy vibrant and gorgeously refined as it plays across your tongue
with lavender, and tart blackberries, black currants, menthol, and little pops of cranberry. The fresh and energetic fruit notes are accented with cinnamon red hots, graphite, and a few twists of freshly milled black pepper. At this STUNNING price — this is a no-brainer, and the 94 POINT praise only seals the deal even further!

Barely enough for a slow Saturday
go get ‘em, folks!
