Anywho…Arrivé’s first ever vintage of this STELLAR Atlas Peak beauty is just the wine to get me back in the saddle following yesterday morning’s whiskey and the steady flow of celebratory Christmas bubbles that followed! I’m BACK, baby!

The flat-out GORGEOUS 2023 vintage, and the budding (blossomed?) talent of a soon-to-be-a-household-name in Morgan Maureze. Born in France, with a winemaking lineage that goes back GENERATIONS on both sides of the family – he was blind-tasting Merlots and Cabernets when he was 12. He spent much of his teen years working his holidays and summers at Christian Moiex’s DOMINUS estate, and then, armed with a Viticulture and Enology degree from UC Davis, returned to France to work with the likes of Château Haut-Brion, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, and MORE while completing his Master’s. Then…THEN(!) he returned to Napa (at Andy Erickson’s invitation, no less) to work alongside Andy at OVID, Arietta Wines, Dancing Hares Vineyards, Dalla Valle Vineyards, Marciano Estate, and a little gem called Screaming Eagle. SERIOUSLY?! After over 15 years as Andy’s right-hand man, he took on solo gigs as the head winemaker for Marciano, Seven Apart, and now, his own project with… ARRIVÉ!!!

So yeah…$125 OFF is soup-sandwich crazy, y’all!!! And the wine? Heaven. Valhalla. Shangri-la. Nirvana – take your pick (I’m partial to reincarnation as a winery dog on Pritchard Hill myself), but whatever your preferred afterlife, you’re gonna want a bottle of this to sip on! Stunning aromatics of crème de cassis and lilacs, with a dusting of baby powder freshness, and then a luxuriously rich mouthful of blackberries, currants, pomegranates, black cherries, graphite, and smoldering sage, and…AND!!! It’s incredibly soft, and the texture is sheer cashmere, with plenty of structure and depth, but not a single edge out of place. It flows like Vinyasa yoga, and with the same sort of healing, all-is-right-with-the-world post-glow that lingers impressively. To be this young, and this incredibly approachable – it's nothing short of astonishing. I mean, C’MON! 96 POINTS, over 78% OFF, and a pedigree like THIS?!
